Our Process Read below to see exactly what we do! Initial Contact During our contact we gather some basic information about you and your property. We also explain our pricing. Once we get your personal and property information we add you to our system and depending on the time of year put you on our schedule. Bid On the day we have you scheduled for service we arrive at your property. We measure the area to be treated and give you a price. We come prepared to do the job at the time of the bid. Once you approve of the price we do the job immediately. If you would like some time to think about the price we would wait to hear from you and schedule you at our earliest opening (during our peak season this can be 1-3 weeks out. Aeration and Thatching Next we unload our equipment, mark all sprinkler heads and get to work. We start by dethatching the yard. Dethatching removes the dead grass, debris and undigested roots that are below the turf grass and soil. This layer effects drainage by acting like a sponge and not allowing water to get to the roots of your lawn. Next we core aerate, core aeration allows your grass roots to thrive and helps to relieve compacted soil. If your yard is very uneven and lumpy we do a top dressing, usually a mix of dirt/sand and grass seed. Overseed and Fertilize Finally we spread our high quality grass seed by using a hand spreader to ensure there is no seed that ends up where it doesn’t belong. Once the grass seed is spread we fertilize the lawn. It is very important that you water your lawn or the seed won’t germinate and the fertilizer won’t activate. Top Dressing and Lawn Leveling In some cases, aeration is not enough to fix a lumpy lawn. In these situations, we bring in a top dressing of either sand or a mix of compost mulch, sand, topsoil, and peat. Top dressing can help protect the new seed and the roots of grass from the heat of summer. In extreme cases we scalp the lawn very short, bring in a heavy top dressing, and level your lawn.
